Pressure is a Privilege: Exploring the Legacy of Billie Jean King, Gender Equality, and the Evolution of Women’s Sports
Join JJC Assistant Professor of English, Nicole Selvaggio, to discuss and celebrate tennis legend, Billie Jean King’s trailblazing impact on Title IX and gender equality, as well as the evolution of women’s sports, nearly 51 years to the day of the “Battle of the Sexes” cultural milestone tennis match. Professor Selvaggio, a former nationally-ranked tennis player and certified professional tennis coach, 5-time Coach of the Year, and 2-time Hall of Fame Inductee, will also share personal anecdotes and experiences from her time spent with Billie Jean King.
